dec 25, 1956 - Bombing of Reverand Fred Shuttlesworth
Description:
In Birmingham, Alabama, Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth, who was a civil rights leader, had his home bombed by the KKK. The dynamite damaged his home and the church next door, but no one was inside or got seriously injured. He had been a target of the KKK because of protests and boycotts he had helped to organize and participated in. Even after the bombing, he continued to be in protest rides, even the day after.
