sep 24, 1957 - Eisenhower sends in Federal Troops
Description:
In the fall of 1957 there was a push towards desegregation and integration in Southern public schools and tensions arose, especially in Little Rock, Arkansas where 9 black students were starting to attend an all white high school. People began showing up and protesting at the school and Eisenhower had to decide how to respond to the situation. To deal with the violence, he sent in the 101st Airborne Division and had them escort the students around the school as well as deal with the angry crowds.
