apr 12, 1963 - MLK Goes to Birmingham Jail
Description:
There was a lot of trouble with desegregation in the South because many of the whites didn't want to negociate with black people. A protest in Birmingham became violent when firefighters used strong pressured hoses on the demonstrators. Many were also arrested including MLK who ignored the warning against demonstrations. While in jail for about a week, he wrote an open letter explaining the reasons behind protests.
