jan 1, 1200 - Polynesian Dog ( Kuri )
Description:
Kurī (the Polynesian dog) were brought to Aotearoa in the 13th century by ancestral Māori voyagers. Extinct since the 1860s, these small, short-legged, bushy-tailed dogs did not bark but howled. They were highly valued companions used to hunt birds, clean scavenge, and provide fur and meat.
