jul 1, 1895 - Immigrant Ships
Description:
Immigrant ships in the 1840s-1860s coming from Ireland were disease ridden, sometimes a third of the passengers would die on the journey, and many more would be too ill to get out of the ship. While these numbers would decrease in the following decades as the direct health issues of the famine faded, the ability of the ships to spread diseases remained the same.
