His "bones were found in October [1975] by two boys playing in a Laguna Hills field" (OCR 2/9/76).

"Oct. 19, 1975 -- Skeletal remains of a body, with the head missing, are found in a culvert in Laguna Hills within two miles of where Kraft said he and Crotwell had been when his car bogged down" (LAT 3/15/87).
