jan 1, 135 - Hadrian (Rome)
Description:
Hadrian was the Roman emperor during the Bar Kokhba Revolt of 132–135 CE. After the revolt was crushed, Rome devastated Judea, suppressed Jewish national hopes, and transformed Jerusalem into a Roman city called Aelia Capitolina. Jewish access to Jerusalem was severely restricted, and the Roman reshaping of the city became a major symbol of the loss of Jewish sovereignty after the Second Temple period.
