jan 1, 1741 - New York Slave Rebellion of 1741: A group of enslaved people burnt down a building at the edge of town and as people came rushing to see what was happening, rebels killed 9 of them. The rebels were quickly captured and tortured publicly, but it showed that these enslaved people were sick of being treated so poorly
