"Found dead at approximately 2pm Tuesday, July 19 [1977]" (PSN 8/3/77).


COD strangulation. Circumstances classified as "other sex offense" in MAP Data.
Proposed by: Friends of Russell's
Possible scorecard entries: HB SHORT [was very short in stature (5'0); however, this is assuming that "MC DUMP HB SHORT" is actually two different entries]; SKATES [went missing with his skateboard; however, this entry is currently tied to another, confirmed, victim]

Reasons proposed: Demographics, time period, SoCal; hitchhiking, nude, SAed, strangled, dumped, found on side of road, cigarette burns on body

Reasons against: Despite all of the similarities to the Freeway Killings, from what I could find Russell was never mentioned in newspapers as possibly being linked to the series. One other case mentioned in NPs as similar to Russell's is that of Thomas Lundgren, who LE has linked to William Bonin (though some users online think he could instead by a Kraft victm).
