Description:

"Found about 4:15am yesterday [7/18/80] lying along the freeway [Interstate 5] a mile south of Woodburn. [...] A passing motorist discovered the victim lying on the gravel shoulder of I-5. [...] Investigators said they believe that the man may have been hitchhiking at about 2:30am [7/18/80] near the I-5 and Market street interchange in Salem" (SSJ 7/19/80).

"Found, fully clothed, by a passing motorist about 4:15am Friday [7/18/80]. [...] Had been dead less than 24 hours when found." (SSJ 7/20/80).

"Shortly after 4am Friday [7/18/80], a motorist found [a body] on the east shoulder of the northbound lane of I-5 about two miles south of Woodburn and about 10 miles north of Salem" (ERG 7/22/80).

"[He] is believed to have been seen hitchhiking north on I-5 from the Salem area at about 2:30am -- less than two hours before the body was discovered" (ERG 7/24/80).
