Description:

"Apparently had been strangled and then dumped at a Long Beach construction site. [...] Jonaites may have been beaten and strangled before he was left at the site at Loynes Drive near Pacific Coast Highway. The body was found at 12:45pm Friday [1/17/75], barefoot and clad in bluejeans and a t-shirt" (LBI 1/21/75).

"Workers on a Long Beach construction site at Loynes Drive near Pacific Coast Highway shortly after noon Jan. 17 [1975] found a 'bundle of clothing' up an embankment on the site. The 'bundle' turned out to be the beaten and strangled body of a young man, barefoot and dressed in blue jeans and a t-shirt. The victim was identified through fingerprints three days later as Craig Victor Jonaites. [...]
"Investigators established that Jonaites apparently was murdered elsewhere and the body dragged to the construction site the night of Jan. 16 [1975]. Detectives have been unable to [...] trace the victim's movements in his final hours" (LBI 3/2/75).
