Description:

"The mutilated body [...] was found yesterday [12/29/73]. [...] The body was discovered shortly before noon by a couple walking along the roadside searching for aluminum cans. [...]
Investigators theorized that the body was dumped about dusk Friday. It [had been] rolled over the side of a southbound turnout seven-tenths of a mile north of the Old Waterman Canyon Road exit.
A small task force of police officers and detectives combed the area for three hours before the body was removed and taken to Tillie's Memorial Chapel for an autopsy. [...] Members of the Sheriff's San Bernardino Mountain Search and Rescue team hoisted the body, which they wrapped in a black plastic bag, up to the road in a litter about 3pm" (SBCS 12/30/73).
