feb 4, 1861 - Confederate States of America
Description:
The Confederate States of America was formed in February of 1861 and comprised the states that had seceded from the Union due to fears of the North taking away slaves from the South. No new technology was used. The outcome of this was the government of the Confederacy. This event affected the outcome of the war by setting the stage for the two sides in the Civil War and formalizing the South’s rebellion against the Union, which would play a role in deciding the Emancipation Proclamation later on. This was important because it created an entirely new nation, with its own ideologies and beliefs, that the North would fight against.
