Description:

[buildup] egypt wanted to build Aswan Dam on Nile River and needed funding → US said no → asked russia- russia gave some aid but not enough → egypt took control of GB/French owned Suez Canal to get $ → GB/France/Israel = angry (threatened their supply to oil)
[crisis] all three attacked egypt and took it back → US= angry bc left in the dark by its allies → used its influence/UN to get Europeans to withdraw
