nov 6, 1860 - Lincoln's Election
Description:
In 1860, Abraham Lincoln was elected president of the United States, but the South was fearful and didn’t trust Lincoln, and many believed he would take away the South’s slaves. No new technology was involved. Lincoln won the election without any votes from most Southern States. Lincoln’s election led to the secession of many Southern States. This was important because it raised tensions even higher than before and eventually led to the Civil War.
