What happened: Monasteries attacked, Monks brutally killed, Libraries burned, burnt for months, massive loss of knowledge system for Asia and the world. This was the final blow to Buddhism in Indian subcontinent as by that Buddhism was completely annihilated by Turks in Afghanistan and Kashmir.
