Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman says a US proposal to end the war is still “under review” and Tehran will convey its response to mediator Pakistan after “finalising its views”.

Israel bombed Beirut in an expansion of attacks on Lebanon and in the first strike on the Lebanese capital since a “ceasefire”, in name only, came into force on April 17.
