The prime minister has vowed the government will take action to "deal with the roots of antisemitism and extremism", following the stabbing of two Jewish men in a suspected terror attack in Golders Green.
The men are being treated in hospital after being stabbed by a suspected terrorist who has a history of serious violence and mental health issues, according to police.
They have been named as Moshe Shine, 76, and Shilome Rand, 34.
ITV News understands Mr Shine is in a serious but stable condition. He had been at the bus stop when he was stabbed.
Mr Rand was going to pray at the synagogue when he was attacked. He is awake, ITV News understands.
A 45-year-old man, who is a British national, born in Somalia, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He was initially taken to hospital but has since been discharged and has been taken to a London police station where he remains in police custody.
