mar 1, 350 - Jerusalem Talmud
Description:
The Jerusalem Talmud was compiled in the Land of Israel, mainly in the Galilee, around c. 350–400 CE. It explains and discusses the Mishnah, preserving the teachings of the sages of Eretz Yisrael known as the Amoraim. It is shorter and often more difficult than the Babylonian Talmud, partly because Jewish life in the Land of Israel was under pressure from Roman and Byzantine rule. From a Jewish perspective, it is a major witness to Torah learning in the Land of Israel after the Temple’s destruction.
