jan 1, 1150 BC - Jerubbaal Inscription
Description:
A damaged early alphabetic inscription from Khirbet el-Ra‘i, commonly read by its publishers as “Yrbʿl / Jerubbaal,” a name known from the Gideon story in Judges. Because the inscription is fragmentary and written in an early, non-standardized script, the reading is not universally accepted. It is best used as evidence that names and writing traditions connected to the Judges-era world existed in the right period, not as proof that the object belonged to Gideon himself.
