jan 1, 700 BC - Bullae of Isaiah

Description:

The Bulla of Isaiah is a small clay seal impression found in the Ophel area of Jerusalem, close to the Bulla of King Hezekiah. Some scholars believe the damaged inscription may read “Isaiah the prophet,” possibly connecting it to the biblical prophet Isaiah, who lived during Hezekiah’s reign. However, because part of the seal is broken, the reading is uncertain. This makes it an important but debated archaeological find. If the identification is correct, it would be one of the strongest physical links to a biblical prophet from the First Temple period.
