Mission Mountainaria was a plan to enter the Dimension of the Mountainarians (Level 52 of the Backrooms) and completely erase them. The Mountainarians first appeared on 20 December 2020 in the Overworld, near the former western border of Inostropia. After Sirenhead and Lighthead—the two assistants of the Mountainarians’ leader—were defeated, only Cartoon Cat (the leader) and the Mountainarians who had retreated back to the Backrooms and who never left the Backrooms remained.

On 25 April 2026, the mission began. At that point, no one had a clear plan. The only assumption was that a portal located in an ancient city inside a cave near the Forum Inostropicum had to be activated. This portal was believed to lead into the Backrooms. However, no one knew how to activate it.

Then, a mysterious man with an invisibility effect suddenly appeared and handed over a “pointy key.” After he disappeared as fast as he arrived, it led to the idea that missing components of the portal needed to be found and placed in the correct positions and order to activate it. The pointy key, which turned out to be a Nether Star, was used to create a beacon. This marked the final state of the mission on that day.
