jan 18, 1999 - The Sensory Strain STARKILL begin
infesting electrical grids
Description:
"Starting January 18th, 1999, reports of STARKILL biomass accumulations around electrical sources in Greensburg, Kansas were received by local law enforcement. HOME operatives were notified, and it was discovered that a large population of STARKILL instances had congregated around houses, commercial buildings, and particularly, electrical transformers. This behavior led researchers to believe that the Sensory Strain was attracted to and fed off of electrical fields. The Pratt County Electrical Transformer in Cullison, Kansas had a particularly notable STARKILL infestation, with the power being cut off from the town for several days before officials were notified of the biomass accumulation. HOME Hazard Containment teams dealt with the infestation swiftly, using incineration and detonation techniques to clear out STARKILL biomass. Several homes were completely infected, and those too were incinerated and subsequently detonated. Multiple Sensory Strain samples were brought back to HOME Primary Headquarters for analysis, revealing cellular characteristics previously unseen in the Vocalization Strain..."
