Medgar Evers was shot in his own house by a white supremacist named Byron De La Beckwith. Medgar Evers was a leader of civil rights and volunteered with the US Army. The trial had an all-white jury and the murderer was found not guilty. 30 years later, the trial was reopened and Evers family got the justice they delivered when he was sentenced to life in prison.
