Three civil rights activists by the names of Andrew Goodman, Michael Schwerner, and James Chaney were abducted and murdered in June 1964. The investigation was at first a missing person case, but that ended 3 days later their burnt-out car was found. Then the case was murder two months later their bodies were found. After 40 years, Edgar Ray Killen, was charged for the murder of the 3 men.Added to timeline:
