aug 26, 1789 - 5.) Publishing of the Declaration of Natural Rights of Man and Citizen
Description:
Was created by the National Assembly and essentially laid out the rights that all French citizens had from birth. Such rights include: property, liberty, security, and resistance to oppression. It discussed the way power should be in the government, and ensured equality for all French citizens. This was important because up until then, the 1st and 2nd estate dominated everything, while the common folk had no rights in their own country.
