Description:
In Montgomery, Alabama, African Americans were required to sit in the back of the bus. Rosa Parks sat down in the first row of the black section, but the white bus driver asked her to give up her seat to a white man, yet she refused. Following her arrest, the NAACP and other African American activists called for a bus boycott on December 5.
