Project iceworm was a top secret project from the US during the cold war. It aims to build a network of mobile nuclear missile launch sites under the ice cap of Greenland. They wanted to do so they could survive the first strike. When the Danish obtained the documents they declassified them in 1966. The missiles that could strike within the soviet union were never put into place and consent from the Danish government for this project was never obtained.
