jan 31, 2026 - The Corpse of Lighthead has been found

Description:

While flying around the region near Dorossia, still under construction at the time and not yet an official village, InfinityZoom187 discovered something unusual. He found the remains of a large, thin brown creature with a lamp-shaped head. Nearby lay a chest containing a book titled “The Truth.” The author’s name revealed a shocking identity: Lighthead.

This was the same entity that had previously destroyed the New Settlement and fought Infinity twice during the survival era. EternalAbyss169 and Rocco7208 were called to the site to examine the discovery and read the book together with him.

The book described a deeper history involving the Mountainarian people, who had played a significant role during World War I and the fall of the Inostropian Empire. According to the text, Sirenhead and Lighthead had served as ministers under a greater entity known as Cartoon Cat, who was effectively the leader of the Mountainarians. Unlike traditional rulers, Cartoon Cat governed them beyond the overworld, controlling them as part of a larger system.

The Mountainarians themselves were said to originate from Level 52 of the Backrooms, and their goal was to colonize the overworld in order to escape the endless maze of school-like corridors and secure a better existence. However, the players stood in their way.

To achieve their goal, Cartoon Cat deployed Sirenhead and Lighthead to eliminate the players. Despite battles, wars, and psychological manipulation attempts, their efforts ultimately failed. Instead, the Mountainarians were forced to retreat back into Level 52. With Sirenhead later killed on January 13th, 2026, their mission collapsed entirely.

Lighthead, already weakened and near death, wrote the book shortly before dying, attempting to bring it to Inostropia City. However, he never reached his destination and left only his remains and the book behind.

This led to a key question: why did Lighthead write it? The most plausible theory was that Sirenhead and Lighthead were not truly loyal to Cartoon Cat, but instead forced into service against their will. They may have been enslaved and punished for failure, which would explain why Lighthead’s writing contained contradictions, he repeatedly emphasized that Infinity should not have died, suggesting hidden resistance.

After reading the book, Infinity, Eternal, Daewe, and Vorhees3709 instinctively began searching for Level 52. Eternal mentioned seeing a strange orange glow underground, prompting an exploration attempt. However, after descending through a cave and reaching an ancient city, where the Warden posed too great a threat, they were forced to retreat, later assuming the “orange light” had likely been flowing lava.

Despite the failed expedition, the group now had crucial information. Whether Lighthead intended it or not, they now possessed the knowledge needed to locate the Mountainarians’ homeland in Level 52, opening the possibility of negotiation, confrontation, or something far more uncertain.
