There is no blood in the Super Nintendo version. And in the Sega Genesis version, you need to enter a cheat code to get the blood.

Johnny Cage's decapitating uppercut is replaced by a Shadow Kick (Genesis and Game Gear ports) or sticking his entire good into his opponent's chest (Super NES port).

Sub-Zero instead simply uppercuts his opponent (Genesis and Game Gear ports), freezes the other player in a block of ice and then shatters it (Super NES port), or sliding towards his opponent with an extended fist smashing into his chest (Game Boy port)

Kano's censored fatalities, for the Genesis and Super NES ports, include the same heart-ripping attack, but the heart is instead grey and unbeating. In the Game Boy port, he slides on one foot to his opponent before delivering a roundhouse kick to the head.
