Description:

Italy was in chaos after WWI because they did not receive the land that they were promised for after they helped France win. There was one man however who stood out among the crowd, Mussolini, who was determined to renew and fix Italy’s disorder. Italian communism emerged which nearly took over Italy, until Mussolini took control and created the opposing force, fascism. The two forces clashed, but Mussolini marches his forces into Rome and scared the king Victor Emmanuel III into surrendering over his power. It took date from 28 to 29 October 1922.

Mussolini’s Blackshirts assembled together on the plain of the river Po outside Rome and took position at strategic and planned points. Armed fascist troops gathered in the outskirts before marching into the city. They marched up to the king and threatened him to the point to surrender. Victor Emmanuel III resigned and was forced to give his full power to Mussolini.
