Biography:
Zina Wood-Erewalker is the immortal, forest-born matriarch of the Erewalker bloodline. Born in the heart of Grikonis Island’s sacred groves on January 13, 1301, she is a timeless being—equal parts guardian, prophetess, and elemental force. Her union with Judius Erewalker, the elusive astral sage, fused the paths of nature and cosmic mystery, creating a legacy of power that would echo through generations.
Zina’s gift of dendrokinesis allows her to command and commune with the living forest. Trees answer her, roots rise in her defense, and vines twist to her will. But her most sacred gift is foresight—her visions come not from stars or fire, but from the leaves themselves, each one a page in the story of time. She reads destinies in the veins of foliage, often predicting major events long before they unfold.
She can transform into a hummingbird, the smallest and swiftest of birds, embodying grace, agility, and silence. In this form, she traverses hidden realms, often scouting or evading danger unseen. Her bond with hummingbirds runs deeper than mere communication—one, in particular, is her lifelong companion, a being who can shift between bird and human form to serve as Zina’s protector and confidant.
As wife to Erewalker, holds a unique position in the family’s cosmic and magical heritage. Together, they set the foundation for the entire Erewalker lineage, their powers blending the primal and the prophetic. Though Judius is hidden on the astral plane, camouflaged even from gods, Zina remains a living link between the material and the mystical, quietly watching over their descendants from the enchanted groves of Grikonis.
She is more than just an ancestor—she is the root from which the entire Erewalker family tree has grown.
After Judius Zina did her own transmutation and turned herself into a tree and ascended to the Astral plane herself so she can be near her husband.
Zina’s Transcendence
After Judius Erewalker surrendered himself to the Golden Oath and entered his alchemical sleep, Zina felt the hollow ache of separation. Though immortal, her bond to the living forest could not ease the absence of her astral-bound husband. In her grief—and wisdom—she undertook her own transmutation.
Zina merged with the oldest tree of Grikonis, a towering silver-barked sentinel known as The First Grove, entwining her essence with its roots and branches. In doing so, her spirit ascended to the Astral Plane, allowing her to remain close to Judius across the veils of existence.
Her body became a sacred, unwithering tree, its leaves shimmering with faint gold veins under moonlight. Locals call it the Matriarch’s Tree, a place of prophecy where leaves fall only when great shifts in fate are near. To her descendants, the rustling of its boughs is her whisper; to the chosen, visions can be seen in its falling leaves.
Thus, Zina became both guardian and guide—her physical form nourishing the soil of Grikonis while her astral self walks beside Judius in silence and light. Together, though apart, they keep the root and star of the Erewalker legacy alive.
