As the Battle of Dandanaqan had destroy Ghaznavid military power and Khorasan fall under Seljuk rule, the west part of Ghaznavid soon cut the connection with Ghazni, cities, with its Ghaznavian goveror, were either capituate or be capture by Seljuks. Tughril laid siege to Spahan on 1042 for an entire year, the people of Spahan, suffering from severe food shortages, could no longer resist. As a result, they declared their submission and surrendered the city to Tughril.
October 17, 1042, Tughril entered Spahan, the city is appealed to Tughril’s tastes and sensibilities, and for this reason, it was selected as the new capital of the Seljuk state. Then Tughril had himself declared not only the Bey or even the Khan anymore, but crowned himself as the Padishah of Eran and Aneran.
