jan 28, 1665 - The Great Plague
Description:
When the great plague broke out in 1665, many people had similar reactions as they did to the black death. The most commonly believed theory was miasma, the theory the bad air gave you disease. Again, sweet-smelling herbs were used to ward off the disease. However, people realised that the disease could be passed on from person to person, and large gatherings were banned, and people were blocked into their houses if they caught the plague.
