jul 8, 1348 - Black Death
Description:
The black death killed about 1/3 of Britain's population. People believed that God had sent it to punish them, and tried to avoid catching it by praying and fasting. Other theories included the position of the planets, and Miasma, or bad air. People carried herbs and spices to avoid bad air, and cleared up rubbish.
