· In 2020, Joby Aviation reached a significant milestone with the U.S. Air Force's Agility Prime program, marking the first time the USAF granted an airworthiness approval for an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This agreement allowed Joby to deliver and operate up to nine of its eVTOL aircraft for demonstration flights, testing cargo and passenger capabilities for the Air Force and other federal agencies. The partnership also provided a path for Joby to establish the first eVTOLs stationed at a military base and was a precursor to the formal certification basis agreement with the FAA in the same year.
