Description:

On November 29, 1814, the inventor of the first successful cylinder press, Friedrich Koenig, unveiled his invention in The Times (of London). The mechanized printing press tripled the output of the traditional iron hand press; however, the printing quality was low. Despite its drawbacks, the speed and power of the mechanized printing press turned "even smaller printing houses" into "printing factories."
