Description:

Bi Sheng advanced traditional Chinese woodblock printing by developing ceramic movable type. Although the material was fragile, it made correcting mistakes easier through movable characters. His invtention eventually evolved a century later into a movable wood type and then a metal tyoe. Both were improvements on the fragility of the original.
