Protocol of Sèvres – A secret agreement signed in October 1956 between Britain, France, and Israel at Sèvres, France. It laid out the plan for the Suez Crisis: Israel would invade Egypt across the Sinai, then Britain and France would intervene militarily under the pretext of “separating the combatants” but in reality to seize the Suez Canal and weaken Nasser. The protocol revealed collusion between the three powers, remained secret for years, and was only publicly acknowledged decades later.
