jan 1, 1306 - St Edward’s Church
Description:
St Edward’s Church is rebuilt. The Church nave is long and narrow, reproducing its earlier proportions and fully aisled on both sides. Part of the western respond (half-pillar attached to a wall in order to support an arch) of the north aisle remains and is evidence that the aisle formerly extended the full length of nave. The north arcade has octagonal piers, three of which survived until the early 19th century.
