Leek church is granted to Dieulacres Abbey. The Rectory is held by the monks until the Dissolution. The grant is confirmed by William Cornhill, the bishop of Coventry. He institutes the monks into the vacant church. The bishop fixes its value at 20 marks (One mark = weight of 8 ounces of silver). His confirmation mentions the existence of dependent chapels.
