jan 1, 468 - Battle of Bolia
Loss of Illyria
Description:
Attila the Hun had conquered all of Hungary, and with it he brought many German and Slavic tribes into the west as his vassals.
Of these, a group of Goths (the Ostrogoths) had settled the northern Danube along with the Gepids, Heruli, Rugii, Sarmatians, and Sciri.
The other tribes saw the larger Ostrogoths as a threat, and so with Roman backing formed a coalition to defeat them.
The Ostrogoths won and pushed all other tribes from the area.
