Bitcoin Heads is a project created by Vlad Costea that commemorates individuals in the Bitcoin and Counterparty space with scarce digital trading cards. Vlad is well known in the Bitcoin space for his work in creating The Bitcoin Takeover Podcast, Bitcoin Takeover Website and BTCTKVR magazine.

The collection starts with VLADHEAD representing Vlad himself but also prominent figures in the community such as Theo Goodman, Chris DeRose, Mike in Space, Casey and many more. The collection even pokes fun at characters with historical bad press like SBF, Mark Karpeles and others.

Vlad mentioned the precursor to this series was something called 'Leftist Tears' with assets such as A11114413083988935324, FRAGILETEARS and KARENTEARS to name a few. Vlad wrote, 'it was my earliest experiment with creating a collection' and 'at the time, the American left really hated Bitcoin'. Many of the archetypes were made fun of with these tokens such as people who didn't hate NFT's on 'green' Proof of Stake networks (Ethereum). This same card template and similar criticism was used in the Bitcoin Heads collection.

Vlad goes on to mention that 'at the time, Pepe was seeing a resurgence with Fake Rares. But I had no original idea for creating Pepes, the original collection is amazing and the new artists are much better than me. So I created my own weird digital cards. The supply was purposely low to create scarcity and give the few collectors the feeling that they're holding onto something special.'

Bitcoin Heads art would also be inscribed using Ordinals within the first month of the Ordinals launch. These Ordinals are plainly labeled on the Bitcoin Heads website. Vlad explained, 'It was just a way to make them permanent on the Bitcoin blockchain, so the art never goes away.' Recently even the description of the Counterparty token VLADHEAD was updated with the inscribed Ordinal ID from what was mentioned above and is shown in the commonly used CIP25 Ordinal format to describe Counterparty tokens.
