This step marked a very important moment in Inostropian history. After nearly half a year, a new city was founded once again beside the capital. However, the process was difficult, as there was no fully functioning Senate at the time to decide whether Krasnoye should be granted city status. Although the institution existed de jure, the first consuls were still in office, meaning there were no ex-consuls available to serve as senators. As a result, the decision rested entirely in the hands of the Prime Minister and the consuls. A conflict soon arose: Consul Matthewplays318 did not respond to the request for a meeting, Consul De Kokkies supported the city’s elevation, while Prime Minister InfinityZoom187 opposed it. This disagreement led to political tension. InfinityZoom187 proposed certain conditions for approving city status, including infrastructure upgrades such as completing the supermarket and improving integration with the generated village, as well as a payment requirement, an approach viewed by many as corrupt. Fortunately, this proposal was not carried out. Instead, a third solution was chosen: a referendum. The referendum resulted in a majority vote in favor of Krasnoye becoming a city, even if only a small one. With the completion of the supermarket, Krasnoye was officially granted city status on August 8th, 2025.
