Lidovky.cz: This year too, you managed to invite world stars to Vary as in the pre-pandemic years: Michael Caine, Ethan Hawke, Johnny Depp. Was the negotiation of their arrival much more difficult this time than before?

It was quite strange, because just two months ago it seemed that no one would be able to come at all. Even now, for example, travel is still unimaginable for many Americans, they have practically written off this year and are counting on starting to travel again after the New Year, starting with the Sundance Film Festival. But then suddenly the atmosphere started to improve and various discussions began to show that perhaps inviting guests might not be so unfeasible. There are of course still some restrictions and it may be necessary to have exceptions to the quarantine, but the fundamental obstacles have been overcome and it is nice that the people we announced are coming.
