Description:
The French surrender Genosha to the British at the conclusion of the Napoleonic Wars. It is during this transition that the name "Genosha" is firmly established. The British administration, which began with Sir Edwin Hammer as its first governor, oversaw rapid social and economic changes. The capital city and chief port was renamed Hammer Bay in his honour.
