Description:

NSDC and NASA begin development of Lunar investigation equipment, taking pieces from other projects to ensure quick success. These include a “Luna Reconnaissance Lander” is developed using Viking and Surveyor tech, a Lagrange point communications satellite, and a closer polar orbiter with adaptive camera targeting and LIDAR. They also begin planning for a manned mission.
