Description:

On 7th November 1860 Garibaldi and Victor Emmanuel II entered Naples in triumph . Garibaldi was offered riches and a noble title by the king, but he declined preferring to retire to his island farm at Caprera (although not for long). The red shirts disbanded and in March 1861 the Kingdom of Italy was proclaimed with Turin as its capital
