dec 16, 1773 - Boston Tea Party
December 16, 1773
Description:
The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the Stamp Act on December 16, 1773, organized by the Sons of Liberty. British ships carrying tea were denied in Charleston, Philadelphia, and New York, but the British consignees refused to concede to the colonists. In response, the Sons of Liberty and others, led by Samuel Adams, stormed the three ships in Boston Harbor and dumped all 342 chests of tea into the water.
