Description:

Lincoln waited for the South to make the first move, which they did, on Fort Sumter, which was union-controlled but located in the South. South Carolina saw the fort as an affront to southern authority and attacked it and the northerners there surrendered. Lincoln sent troops and this started the Civil War. Confederate victory.
